A national initiative aimed primarily at encouraging street parties www.thebiglunch.com on July 19^th was celebrated in the village with a gigantic community lunch party at the Village Hall. 

Everyone was invited to come and join in a village lunch party in the village hall and grounds..   

It took the form of a 'faith' lunch; in other words people brought their own food to share with others. Despite challenging weather, a good many villagers enjoyed a successful event.
