Main Street's road surface is looking the best for years now that major resurfacing has been completed. For a week and a half the village had to endure daytime road closures to allow the work to take place and bus services were diverted. A breakdown of the road paling machine at a strategic location cost the village a loss of bus services all weekend. Now, however, works are completed, new white lines are in place and the village will be pleased with a job well done.

Whitegate gets the same treatment in early August when Leeds - Wetherby 99 buses will be diverted between 0930 and 1530, however the 923 will be unaffected this time providing a continued service between the village and Wetherby.
