The Old Star shines again, this time with former landlord Dave Chapman at the helm. We understand talks took place Thursday afternoon to seek a resolution to the crisis which had led to the pub being closed the previous Thursday after the third visit by bailiffs seized goods on court orders relating to unpaid debts. Villagers in East Keswick had feared one of their two pubs - and the major drinking pub - being closed for the festive season. A spokesperson for Enterprise said Enterprise hadn't closed it, but the leaseholder had. Therefore it was in the hands of the leaseholder when it might reopen.

The Old Star reopened on Friday at 5pm. It will be open normal hours from now on. Christmas Day hours are 12 to 2.30pm
